Они в самом тебе. Ты сам свой высший суд;

Они:ここでは前文の、（創作に対しての）「褒美（награда）」を指す。　сам：「自分」を強調したいときに用いる語。副詞のように様々な場所に配置できて主語・目的語等にはならない一方で、形容詞のように格変化（強調したい語の格に合わせる）してしまう中途半端な語。
свой：こちらは「自分の」。完全に形容詞。格変化はмойと同じ。
вы́сший：最高の　суд：裁判官

Они (в самом тебе). Ты сам свой высший суд;
самом→前　тебе→前　

＜訳＞褒美は（他者ではなく）お前（詩人）自身の中にこそある。お前自身が自分の最高裁判官なのだ。

そーいや、うｐ主のおじいちゃんもなんか言ってたな。
自分にとって満足いく作品が書くのがゴールで、それができたら筆を折る、とかと。

ま、おそらく若いうｐ主にはそんな理想（内発的動機づけによる創作）を語ってくれたんだろうが、祖父の印刷物のあとがきを見たりすると「壁にかかってる賞状を見るたびに、それに応えなきゃいけないという義務感を感じた」っていう外発的な理由も書かれている。内発的な理由だけでは自分に負け、外発的な理由だけでは評価に溺れる。何かを作り出すってのは思った以上に修羅の道のようである…

Where there was no black powder, it was curiously like a Sunday in the City, with the closed shops, the houses locked up and the blinds drawn, the desertion, and the stillness. In some places plunderers* had been at work, but rarely at other than the provision and wine shops. A jeweller’s window had been broken open in one place, but apparently the thief had been disturbed, and a number of gold chains and a watch lay scattered on the pavement. I did not trouble to touch them. Farther on was a tattered* woman in a heap on a doorstep; the hand that hung over her knee was gashed* and bled down her rusty brown dress, and a smashed magnum* of champagne formed a pool across the pavement. She seemed asleep, but she was dead.

マグナム（magnum）ボトルは、普通のワインボトルの2倍の容積のボトルらしいわ。普通が750mlらしいから、マグナムは1.5Lね。

全訳

黒い粉末が積もっていないところでは、奇妙なことに日曜のシティのようだった。店は閉まり、家は施錠され、ブラインドも閉じられていた。人気がなく静寂な町だった。数か所では強盗に入られていたが、食料やワインの店はほとんど狙われていなかった。宝石店の窓は一か所壊されて開いていたが、どうやら強盗は邪魔を受けたようで、大量の金鎖と腕時計が歩道に散らばっていた。わざわざわたしは手に取ろうとは思わなかった。さらに向こうでは、戸口のところにぼろ服を着た女性が倒れていた。膝を抱えている手は深く切られ、さび茶色の洋服に血を流していた。さらにシャンパンのマグナム瓶は破壊され、ワインが道路の端までプールを作っていた。彼女は眠っているように見えたが、死んでいた。
