「ごく小さい」という意味の「minute」は /maɪnjuːt/ くらい。

全訳

この戦争の結果、人々の世界観が広がったというのは言い過ぎではない。円筒宇宙船が着陸するまでの一般的な観念というのは、「我々の小さな惑星のわずかな表面を除いては、この深い全宇宙中に生命は存在しない」というものだった。いまわれわれの見解はさらにその先にある。火星人が金星に到達したなら、同じことが人類にも不可能だと考える理由はない。そして、太陽の緩やかな寒冷化のせいでこの地球が居住不可能になったとき（最後には必ずそうなるだろうが）、この地で始まって連綿と続く生命は、地球から流れ出し、姉妹の星を活動網の中に入れることになるかもしれない。
