The intellectual* side of man already admits that life is an incessant* struggle* for existence, and it would seem that this too is the belief of the minds upon Mars. Their world is far gone in its cooling and this world is still crowded with life, but crowded only with what they regard as inferior animals. 1. 青アンダーラインの部分について、余計なパーツを全部とると、We must be as alien and lowly as are the monkeys and lemurs.となります。as～as…の比較の形です。比較級のasやthanの後ろで倒置が起こることもたまにあります。多くの場合は、その主語が長いから。
2. 赤アンダーライン部分は第２文型。goneはbe goneという受動態（完了）でとってもいいですが、interestedと一緒で、ふつうに形容詞とみてもいいとおもいます。いずれにせよ、過去分詞なので「～てしまった」という完了の意味が入ってます。
3. regard as ≒ view as ≒ see as ≒ look on as ≒ think of as ≒ consider to be [as]
くらい覚えておけばいいのかな。deemとかesteemみたいな物騒なものまで持ち出さなくても…。
全訳
そして、地球に住む生物であるわたしたち人間は、火星人たちにとって、少なくとも異質で卑しい存在に違いない。わたしたちにとってのサルやキツネザルのようなものだ。
地球の思慮分別のある人たちは、生きるということが生死をめぐる絶え間ない闘争なのだということを以前から理解していたし、火星人らもそういう信念を持っていたのだろう。
火星世界は寒冷化がかなり進んでいた一方、地球世界は依然として生命であふれていた。ただ、この世界にいたのは火星人から見れば劣っている動物だけだった。太陽の方向にある地球に戦争を仕掛けなければ、世代を超えて忍び寄る破滅を回避することはできなかったのだ。
To carry warfare* sunward is, indeed, their only escape from the destruction. だが、直訳すると「戦争することが唯一の破滅からの脱出」となる。これでもいいとおもうけれど、「戦争しないと破滅は回避できなかった」くらいがすっきりしないか？
