1.　オレンジのitの役割は、ただの状況のitですね。後ろのwhenと呼応して、itーwhenの強調構文的なやつかなって思うけど、そしたらat nearly elevenとしなければいけませんね。だから、when以下はただの接続詞とみます。
2.　赤のdayの意味は「日中」。midnight↔midday　という対義語も思い出しましょう。
3.　青のmanの意味は「使用人」「下僕」「従者」。ここをwomanに変えようか迷いましたが、意味がぶれそうなのでやめました。
4.　緑のandが繋いでるものは、stoodとwatched。

全訳

午後11時ごろ、帰路に立った。夜は意外なほど暗かった。いとこの家の、明かりがついた通用路から出てみたが、わたしにとってはほんとうに真っ暗に見えた。日中のような蒸し暑さだった。周りで草木を揺らす風はまったく吹いていなかったのに、頭上では雲の流れが速かった。いとこの使用人は道の両側のランプをつけてくれた。（それでも暗かったが）道をくわしく知っていたのは幸運なことだった。ターちゃんは戸口の明かりのもとに立って、わたしが馬車に乗り込むまでは見送ってくれた。だが不意にターちゃんは家の中に入っていった。いとこたちは最後まで残り、ともに幸運を祈ってくれたというのに。
