全訳
その子が落ち着いてわたしの質問に答えられるようになるまでは結構時間がかかった。そしてやっと、よくわからないような答えをぽつりぽつりと返してくれた。
砲兵隊所属の操縦手だったミッちゃんは、19時ごろようやく行動に移った。そのとき共有地では攻撃が飛び交っていた。どうやら、火星人の最初の集団は、金属の盾を遮蔽物にしてゆっくりと２番目の円筒宇宙船の方に進んでいたらしい。
