語源的に「camera」と同じ（ラテン語で「部屋」）って聞いたときはびっくりしたぜ。
「同じ部屋をともにする仲間」だから「戦友comrade」。
昔の写真機は箱に入ってたから「カメラcamera」だな。

全訳
しばらくの間、頭を水面から上げて息を吸っていた。濡れた髪を振り払って見ると、水蒸気が白い霧となって巻きあがり、最初のうちは火星人を完全に隠していた。騒音は耳をつんざくようにうるさかった。そのあとぼんやりと見えてきたのは、灰色の巨人が霧に映って拡大された姿だった。２体のロボットはわたしのそばを通り過ぎていたが、もう２体のロボットは、泡が出て騒音を立てている戦友の遺骸のそばにかがむようにしていた。
火星人も戦友のこと心配するのね。
