全訳
妹は2時ごろ、ウェストミンスターから、リージェンツ・パーク近くのアパートに戻った。妹はわたしのことを思ってくれていて、とても不安だったらしい。ことは明らかにただごとではないとわかって狼狽していた。妹は、ちょうど土曜日のわたしと同じように、軍隊の詳細について関心が向いていた。静かで準備万全の大砲のこととか、突然遊牧地のように誰もいなくなった田舎のことを考えていたそうだ。そして、「高さ100フィート（30ｍ）の竹馬に乗ったボイラーってなんなんだろ」って想像しようとしていた。
この「about two」は「午後2時」？それとも「午前2時」？
ここらへん時系列がいろいろ前後しているので分かりにくいですが、後の段落から考えると午後2時だと思います。
