1. オレンジのthatの品詞と役割は、接続詞・同格です。persuasionを説明してるわけですね。なお、I was being played withで、withの後ろに空所があって不完全文だからthatは関係代名詞という考えもあるとは思いますが、I was being played with the persuasion（その確信を使ってもてあそばれた）とすると少し変な感じがあります（「その確信がわたしをもてあそんだ」という意味でとるとしても、withじゃなくてbyを使いません？）。
ここでは、I was spoken to a foreigner.みたいに、play withで一つの句動詞と考えて、I was being played with.（もてあそばれていた）と考えるのがいいとおもいます。
あと、赤のthatの前のカンマはandと一緒(同じ重さの弱い接続)と考えると、オレンジと赤のthatが同じ役割のthatのはずです。
2. 赤のthatの品詞と役割は接続詞・同格です。this mysterious deathが主語、leapが動詞ですね。ちょっとSVが見つけにくいですが、少なくとも完全文ということはわかりやすいと思います。
3. 赤アンダーラインの 「(up)on the verge of」は「今にも～するところ」という意味です。ここでは「on[at] the point of」が類義イディオムになります。ここでは後ろはVingじゃないですが、be about to V ≒ be on the point(verge) of Vingを覚えておきましょう。
4. 茶色のafterの意味は「～を追って」。The police is after the murderer(殺人犯を警察が追っている).を覚えておきましょう。
5. 青のandが繋いでるものはleapとstrike。かんたんです。
全訳
自分がもてあそばれていて、まもなく、光が過ぎるのと同じくらい速いこの謎めいた死が、わたしを追って円筒のまわりの穴から飛び出てきて、わたしを殺すのだろう、という並々でない確信を抱いたのを覚えている。
